CIRCUITO OFF 25.08.2013 Sneak peeks on the Special Sections The fourteenth edition of Circuito Off will be held at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi from 28th to 31st August. Besides the International Competition, during the four nights of the Festival will be screened several experimental sections with the most significant names of the contemporary video field. Here are a some sneak peeks on some of the special sections: The artist Miltos Manetas and curatorial duo Francesco Urbano Ragazzi present the history of the third Internet Pavilion: a project that develops between the ancient Oratory of San Ludovico, the website of Nero Magazine and other physical and mental spaces at the 55th Art Biennale in Venice. Circuito Off and the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi will be the stage where the final act of this third episode will takes place: a final tribute to the Unconnected, to those who still live a life 100% offline, and for this reason they are consider the new saints of the Internet. The Pavilion is dedicated to all these people and in their honor Manetas’ tale is staged with its chorus of critics, artists and thinkers. future past perfect by Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto is a short film series whose single fragments are supposed to be parts of a larger scale film project. The series is designed as a row of conceptually independent movies that document Nicolai’s focus of interest of the respective year of origin and also builds up on the results of the movie(s) before. For the full list of videos see circuitooff/programma Daniele Puppi’s installation Godzilla will be shown in the foyer of Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi from 28th to 31st August. Godzilla is one of the first work of a series of research works on the re-animation of cinema. It is a starting point for the experimentation of new and creative ways of reelaborating inputs of a visual form to enhance the impact they may have on the viewer allowing for a different experience.
