CITY ACTIVITIES UPDATE: Per State of Michigan Department of Treasury Bulletin No. 2 of 2014, the City of Eastpointe Assessors Office will be conducting an inspection of residential properties. Inspectors will visit as many properties as possible during non-inclement weather in the area west of Gratiot Ave. to the City of Warren limits. An inspection consists of updating records with photographs of all existing structures, verifying measurements and interviewing property owners when possible. All Assessing employees have photo identification and will show it upon request. If no one is home, a placard will be left on the door. Also, beginning Monday, May 5, code inspectors will be enforcing the citys restrictions on grass length. Property owners need to keep their lawns at a height of no more than six inches. Violators will be issued a warning giving them the opportunity to cut their lawns before the city takes action to have it cut by a contractor, with the bill being forwarded to the homeowner.
