CITY COMMISSION MEETING JULY 22 2013 PRESENTATIONS 1.- Larren Wikel - Acquisition of Dock #1 and #2 at the foot of King St. Located between coal dock and Craft marine. ERIE’S VISION FOR THE DOCK is to create a liquid asphalt terminal with one 1.5 million gallon tank with access to water, rail and highway. Dock to load limestone products on to barge for break wall-type work. Approximately 10-15 additional employees needed to fufill this vision. PROJECT TO EXCEED $2,000,000 (4 phases) A. Site clean-up, demolition of existing concrete structures and foundations B. Install scales, small office, break wall and dock repairs. C. Install one 1,500,000 gallon tank, construct safety retention and install pumping equipment. D. Dredge slip. BENEFITS TO SANDUSKY A. Economic development - approximately 10 jobs B. Insurgence of business into Sandusky C. Vacant property used consistently with adjacent properties D. Increased income taxes from increased workforce E. Improvement to King St. F. Remove blighted area and add new commerce COMMISSION AUTHORIZED CITY STAFF TO BEGIN DISCUSSION WITH ERIE MATERIALS INC. 2. Tom Reese from Northern Ohio Rural Water - Northern Ohio Rural water would like to start purchase water from the city of Sandusky if cost effective.
