CITY OF WILKES-BARRE ISSUES REMINDER ON RECYCLING DURING HOLIDAY WEEKS The City of Wilkes-Barre is reminding all residents that there is no recycling collection during holiday weeks. According to the 2014 City of Wilkes-Barre calendar, recycling will not be collected during holiday weeks because of a compressed DPW schedule and double garbage pick-ups. The regular schedule for all collectibles will resume on Monday, June 2nd. The city is requesting that residents remove any curbside recyclables until their next scheduled collection date. Residents are encouraged to refer to the 2014 Wilkes-Barre City Calendar for collection schedules each month. Recycling collection will be suspended June 13th through June 19th to accommodate Flag Day, which is the city’s next scheduled holiday.
