My comment shows up in grey, which (I think) means its only visible to me. The text follows: Passing another law would not stand in the way of this kind of thing. This abuser was willing to break any number of laws. Everything he did, including getting a gun, was already illegal. Making it MORE illegal does not help the situation, it only expresses condemnation. If you really hate this kind of thing, and you really want to help, please dont let your efforts be distracted into fuel for a political wedge issue. Put your votes, time, and money into shelters for battered women, armed police protection for victims, mandatory psychological counseling for those accused of domestic abuse, or making those with active restraining orders against them wear motion tracking ankle bracelets.
