COMPARING YOURSELF............. ... For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise... 2 Cor. 10:12 It is so easy to be drawn into the competition of life, trying to be somebody else, or better than some others. Many often define themselves by others standards, whom sometimes they judge to be more talented, gifted, successful, or more beautiful. We grow day by day, living with temptation to compare ourselves with somebody else and sometimes we feel inferior or superior. And because we have to catch up with our neighbors or some other guy, we impose undue pressures on ourselves that sometimes make our lives so stressful. What freedom to know that in Christ you don’t have to keep up with anybody, be anybody, do what anybody is doing or envy what anybody has and where they are or going to. As long as you finish your course in Christ, you are a winner. Refuse to envy what anybody has or does not have. May you receive grace to be constantly grateful for where you are, what you have and who you are in Christ in Christ Jesus.
