CONQUERING THROUGH PRAYER MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL RADIANT WOMEN: LADIES CELLS DATE: 21 August 2013 BIBLE WOMEN SERIES: DORCAS Scripture: Acts 9 Dorcas was an amazing woman in the Bible. She inspired and touched many lives. Her name in Hebrew was Tabitha which means pleasant gazelle. She was a strong woman but very graceful. She possessed inner and outer beauty. She is a woman who you would call “She’s got it going”. Her story comes with many valuable lessons. Dorcas was a very spiritual woman that was solely committed to Jesus. She was known to be a generous and compassionate woman. Her ministry was not just about teaching and preaching. She put works to her mouth. She spent her time making clothes for the needy. When people had a crisis they knew where to go. She was the person they could go to in their darkest moments. There are people out there that will abuse your kindness and goodness, but that’s not your worry. Everyone is accountable to God. Dorcas did the best she could to help everyone. She was a true giver in every sense of the word. Dorcas lived helping others until she collapsed and died. God doent want o see us wear ourselves out. He wants us to live balanced lives. Women are more under pressure than ever before. They are expected to look good, feel good and do good 24/7. God wants you to live life to the fullest. You have a purpose and a destiny to fulfill. He wants you to be effective in every situation. There is a time to be replenished, restored, renewed and strengthened in wat God still has ahead of you. We go through seasons in our lives. God has a set, appointed time for blessings, breakthroughs and healings. He has it all marked on His calender. God doesn’t want you to arrive at the appointed time only to find out you are too tired and weary. This is when you will lose out or miss your opportunity. You have to be mentally and physically well in order to be able to do what He sets forth before you. When Peter spoke to the body of Dorcas he said one word, “Arise”. God wants you today to arise from where you are. He wants you to stand up and come into your being. He wants you to become powerful. Don’t pour yourself out to your husband, children, friends and neighbours to the extent where you are fully exhausted. Bring a balance to everythting you do. Take a hold of stress, naughty children, needy friends, and audit your life. Put that death on hold and ask God to restore you so that you can move into your destiny in Him. God will help you adjust your priorities in your habits and relationships. Its time to stop, audit your life and get all your priorities in place. Prayer points 1. For God to help you and guide you through challenges and stress related situations 2. Pray for courage to only take on the things that God asked you to do 3. For God to replenish the areas of your life that have become depleted. 4. For joy and strength to be restored to you.
