COOL HISTORICAL FAMILY TYPE POST! You all should read, its very cool :) So right as I was posting that tribal pic and talking about my grandfathers land, my mom came across these artifacts as she was going thru things and thot Id share. The first is an article on the first sci-fi convention ever held in the UK. Thats my grandpa mentioned there, Daniel McPhail, along with HG Wells (YES HE WAS STILL ALIVE! LOL so weird!) and Arthur C Clarke. Gramps rubbed with some pretty impressive shoulders! Notice the name mentioned also Ted Carnell. Ted and Dan were best friends, both of them writers and early creators of science fiction. Ted was from London, Dan from Oklahoma and they met thru the fandom. The second share here is a letter from Ted to Dan right about the time England was going to war with Germany, and its a pretty damn amazing small piece of history. My moms been reading me several different letters from Ted to Dan during this time, and its just so cool that we still have them.
