CRACKER OF A DAY!! Sunny, light winds and pleasant temperatures. We couldn’t ask for much more. We do however expect onshore winds to drag in harmless low cloud this evening about coastal areas. • As mentioned last night there is a chance of thunder/hail and heavy showers about the foothills of Canterbury between 4-8pm later today. At this stage inland areas such as Hawarden, Hanmer Springs, Culverden, and Waiau stand the higher chance and could well see some activity during the above time period. Watch for those ominous CB clouds popping up after 3pm today. Josh will be back tonight with all the latest on a very settled period of weather coming up. -Russ
