Call me an atheist, say Im going to burn, but I need to say this... I cannot believe in a God who would send a person to Hell for taking their own life. Its as absurd to me as saying that you will go to Hell for having a heart attack. Ive sat in that dark place, alone and broken, with the perfect life as judged by those peering at me through smooth, clean glass. The images cast by the mirrors of the mind are not so easy to perceive. Ive opened my eyes after a blissful night of rest only to think one thought, Why couldnt I have died in my sleep? You cannot understand that feeling! You cannot KNOW that pain unless youve been through it. I am angry for the people who have suffered a loss due to a suicide as they now read the ignorant statements of people saying a celebrity who has inspired so many people, touched so many lives, and filled the world with laughter is going to burn for eternity if he took his own life. You should be ashamed of yourselves! Why did your God give him that illness? Is your God really that egomaniacal that only HE can grant forgiveness to one who succumbs to an illness? Do not comment on this post with scripture or any sort of argument for God on this one. Ill delete it and you from my life for good!
