Can I tell you how good my past 24 hours (or so) have been? - TopicsExpress

Can I tell you how good my past 24 hours (or so) have been? Thanks. I was sure you wouldnt mind! :) * I got to speak with one of my Russian daughters, Nataliya Burkalova via Skype. * I had my first massage. Sheila M Green Hartley at HealthPlus (formerly HealthPlex) did a wonderful job. Job actually is a poor choice of words. What I felt she rendered to me was ministry. I left the massage room feeling relaxed, reinvigorated and cared for . . . and shedding tears of joy. Sheila is a friend of mine, so Im sure that helped make it a beautiful experience but Im certain she strives to provide that same level of service to all of her clients. *After one car broke down on Thursday the other one broke down yesterday. How is that a good thing? you might ask. It is a good thing because after posting it on Facebook I received prayers, heartfelt sympathy, wise counsel, encouragement, three offers of loaner cars and the help of dear friends who took me to get one of the loaners. SO VERY OFTEN God teaches us about His compassion and provision through challenging moments. * We got free firewood from a beloved friend. Thanks, Joe Layman! * I had a blast leading a SilverSneakers class at HealthPlus with 12 dedicated students. * I was honored to participate in the Blessing of the Animals at Palatine Park. I was unexpectedly touched by witnessing seven members of the K-9 units of the Fairmont Police and Marion County Sheriffs Departments honored for their service. Then, as a prayed, I was moved to tears (yeah, Im a big baby . . . whatever) while I prayed publicly for the many animals that live out their lives in fear, loneliness and despair. Also, blessed to have my daughter, Chele Faulkner in attendance representing the Marion County Humane Society. * My wife, Joyce experienced relief from a particularly difficult health problem throughout the night and today. * My heart was warmed by seeing and talking with several of The Baptist Temples Senior Saints as they were preparing to leave for a hayride. * I joined with several members of The Baptist Temple to offer a Disc Golf Tournament to about a dozen middle and high schoolers. What fun! Thanks be to God for providing a warm, rain-free afternoon. Special shout-out to Misti Brandli for her fantastic organizational skills. I hope your day was blessed as well.
