Hi again, I have been thinking about next years UEGW in Barcelona. The Rock the Week party was (presumably) abandoned as there was no educational value? Why dont you in the young GI Network organise a Sunday evening party incorporating some education? You could start with a Pro - Con debate on some GI related topic in which the two combatants wear boxing gloves and red or blue shorts (on top of their trousers). The two debaters would walk into the venue with music of their choice playing (I would choose Rocky) and give a 10 minute argument each followed by an audience vote. You could also award prizes for the most ridiculous UEGW abstract (which was rejected or accepted). This would be something like the alternative Nobel Prize (improbable/ig/) which makes people laugh and perhaps then think? Winners would have 5 minutes to explain themselves during the prize ceremony and discuss details with the audience. Later in the evening there would be the purely social part ! It may be a challenge to get the UEG to sponsor this but I think that it would be great fun and a reason for people to make the effort to arrive on Sunday afternoon rather than on Monday morning ! What do you all think ?
