#CapitalNewsBIT A former URA employee has been sentenced to a one and half years jail term at Luzira prison for defrauding the tax body. Seith Mpooya a resident of Seeta created a ghost company he named Sure telecom Uganda LTD with an intention of making false VAT claims from URA which caused the URA a loss of over 970 million shillings. Mpooya was found guilty of all the 8 counts of obtaining money by false pretences, making false documents and being a Director of a false company among others. High Court judge Elizabeth Alivdzaordered him to refund the money to URA that he falsely obtained in June 2009.
