Carb cravings and the flu: with some crazy weather lately, and the 2 of us coming down with the flu, we thought it would be a good topic to touch on: how does someone maintain a caloric deficit for weight loss while struggling with a cold? the answer: you dont. when you catch a cold, or you get the flu, or anything like this, your body is displaying symptoms of an in ability to maintain a state of equilibrium (your body is imbalanced.) elevated energy levels will only help the body to accelerate an issue like this. however, is feeling crappy an excuse to go and eat what ever you like? NO. you are still accountable for your own actions here, and this is a state when your will power will surely be tested. be conscious about your food choices. relax a little, by all means, but be sure to moderate. as far as your exercise regiment goes: put it off until you recover. no body at the gym wants to catch your colds, listen to your body, and be gracious at the same time. train smart. train insane ;)
