Carlow gets 235K towards Arts promotion in the County, very little is it not ? Carlow County Council Arts Service The Arts Office promotes and develops the arts in Co Carlow. As well as planning for the arts, it provides a range of support services to artists, groups and communities, including bursaries, residencies, courses, networking opportunities, mentorship and advice. We fund it because It identifies and develops plans to address gaps in arts provision in the county. Through our partnership we ensure that we support a range of opportunities for artists and citizens of Co Carlow to engage in the arts. Funding €67,300 carlow.ie Eigse Carlow Arts Festival Carlow Arts Festival is a 10-day multidisciplinary arts festival that takes place in June each year. Established in 1986 and formerly known as Eigse Carlow, it has a strong reputation in the visual arts. More recently it has developed a high profile literary festival. We fund it because It provides a varied programme of events for local and visiting audiences to engage with. Funding €98,000 eigsecarlow.ie VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art & the George Bernard Shaw Theatre Visual Carlow (incorporating the 300-seat G B Shaw Theatre) is a local authority-owned, multi-disciplinary arts centre, opened in Sept 2009 in Carlow town. Visuals four galleries (including a digital gallery) are the biggest open spaces for contemporary art in the country. The theatre has 294 seats. We fund it because It produces large-scale visual art exhibitions and hosts a programme of multi-disciplinary touring work in the G B Shaw theatre. It is also supported for its programme of community engagement. Funding €70,000 visualcarlow.ie
