Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry presents a new solo (30 Quilts for 30 Years), which will premiere at the International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston in October-November, 2013 and then travel to other venues for two years (see schedule & details below). This show celebrates the 30th anniversary of Caryl’s first art quilt, (Red Poppies) See below for publication-quality images. The thirty quilts, all of which are new, revisit some themes from my past, award-winning work, and introduce many new themes. Although there is diversity in style, the uniform size of the quilts (30" x 30") pulls the exhibit together visually. All of the quilts are made with fabric from the various collections I have designed for Benartex, which are based on my original hand-dyed and painted fabrics. Most were pieced on a Bernina 550 QE (Quilters Edition) and quilted on a Bernina 820. In have used Fairfield Nature-Fil batting in almost all of them. A segment showing the making of two of the quilts will air on The Quilt Show in early October.
