Casting Call for 2 short Poetry Films The Project is about 2 Short Poetry Films. The films are aimed for the biggest poetry film festival in the world. 7th Zebra Poetry Film Festival and Southbank Poetry Festival in London. The poems are by Susan Poskitt. The Actor is just required to give a narrative of the poems. The films are going to be in colour or Black/White. Depend on what the shots look good at the time. Expenses covered. The 1st poem is called “Proud of my dad, I am”. An example text is shown below. “Proud of my dad, I am, With his flat cap on his head and snap tin under his arm. We prayed that God would keep him from harm. Onward down the pit lane he strolls, down the mineshaft to the darkness of hell. Proud of my dad, I am. His face was blackened and his hands were rough, The coal he pick axes was hard and tough. He kept our home fires burning and our industries turning. We were glad when he was back home alright, to the love and warmth of his family that gave him delight.” The 2nd poem is called “The Granddad, I never knew”. An example text is shown below. “Your the Grandad, I never knew. Often have I wondered all about you. Longingly I Iook at your name, carved upon your grave. You were gone from this earth, before I was born. Your life was cut short, it ended too soon. In the darkness of the mine, out went your flame, on that tragic day back home, you never came, to all, that was thine. I have no treasured memories, or pictures of you. I can only imagine, the smile on your face, and the sound of your laughter. Maybe it is you, I take after.” I’m filming this week. And the film has got be in a couple of weeks. So it doesn’t leave long for editing etc. If interested, please contact Steven on stevencorton@hotmail or 0757 025 7328. Thanks for your help in advance.
