Central Committee Vacancy A vacancy exist on the Howard County Democratic Central Committee (HCDCC). Applicant must be a voter and a registered Democrat in Howard County. You must submit a letter of interest outlining your political activities and experience, and whether or not you have been a Howard County Democratic Party volunteer. Letter must be mailed to Michael C. A. McPherson, Chair, HCDCC, P.O. Box 1363, Columbia, MD 21044. Deadline for submission of letter is April 18, 2014. The Central Committee is not a social club, but an organization charged with helping facilitate the election of Democrats. Central Committee obligations require many hours of participation and a financial commitment. Central Committee members are not campaign managers, but grassroot workers in the trenches, who help organize, fundraise, work the polls, register voters, distribute political literature, recruit volunteers and perform any other tasks that are necessary to creating an environment in which Democrats can get elected.
