****** CenturyLink Bargaining Report #87 ****** (I see no mention of health and wellnes benefits for either active or retired employees) Bargaining Committee Report #87 Wednesday, June 19, 2013 The gaps in the positions of both parties in these talks have remained unchanged for some time. As we indicated in our last report, it became evident rather quickly that Mediation was not working and that we needed to find a different approach to move these talks off center. What has been agreed to at this point is to move the core issues in these talks off of the Bargaining Table here in Denver to bi-lateral talks between CWA District 7’s Chief Counsel and CenturyLink’s General Counsel in an attempt to find the middle ground that has evaded us for over ten months. Accordingly, the talks scheduled for today were canceled and will remain in recess pending the outcome of the discussions between the parties’ attorneys. The talks yesterday dealt with the Leveraged Compensation plans for Consumer and Small Business and budgets for the Contractual Committees. The Union Committee will be working with CWA’s attorney for several days to prepare for those discussions. We expect to schedule a bargaining update call with the Locals within the next two weeks to go over where we stand with these talks. Negotiations in Denver will be recessed until July 21, subject to call. Once and if any breakthroughs occur, bargaining reports will be issued at that time. The contract has now been extended through Monday, July 21, 2013. In Unity, Your Bargaining Committee
