Cereal leaf beetle can feed on ornamental grasses as well as grain crops. In August 2013, the Cereal leaf beetle (CLB) was detected in small grain fields for the first time in CA (Modoc and Siskiyou counties). Thus - Beginning April 1, 2014, CDFA will administratively discontinue enforcement of CCR 3277, the CLB State Exterior Quarantine. CDFA, Industry, University of California, and the Oregon Department of Agriculture will cooperate to develop cereal leaf beetle IPM program. Key components of this program will include grower outreach and education, CLB field surveys, recommended treatments, and release of Bio-Control agents.
