Certainly the alleged cyber-bully (and I am glad her identity is hidden as she is a minor) deserves the protection of being assumed innocent until proven guilty. However, it is all too easy for parents to be ignorant of the activities of their children. The parents say they monitored and I cant contradict them, but does that mean they were successful? Of course Facebook accounts are hacked and that could be the case here, but is someone who would be bullying a 12-yr-old likely to have the skills to hack into FB? Maybe. Some kids are pretty savvy, but it seems more likely that a kid would get up in the middle of the night while parents are sleeping and get on FB to post something. I figure in the days to come well learn whether or not there is evidence of hacking and then a court of law can make a final determination, one way or the other.
