Chantal is now barely hanging on to tropical storm status as winds have decreased and pressure has increased. The forward motion of the storm has reached 29 mph! The environment which Chantal is entering is rather hostile and computer models weaken the storm to just an open wave...meaning an unorganized cluster of storms. So the final track is still very uncertain, but the strength of the storm se...ems to be quickly fading. Locally, more sunshine and warmer temps on the way. Some showers will develop with afternoon heating as highs reach the low 90s. A cold front is still forecasted to not only reach the LA coast, but push south. If this occurs, a drier weekend could be on tap. The question, though, is will the front reach us and will it actually move south. Some uncertainty with forecasting a cold front in July!
