Chaos Elite: Girls I just want you to know we are very proud of your efforts and grit displayed this morning in Athens. We played a team that every girl on that team has either already played their freshman year in college or are already committed to play for a college team and we played them with 8 players due to more injuries and lost 7 to 3. If we had 3 outfielders instead of 2, the game would have been tied, because 4 of their runs were outs. Mary and Michelle showed great hustle out there. We played the infield full, but many, Haleigh, Ashley, Jessica, Caitlin, Jennifer, and Alex in new or unfamiliar positions and all of you held your own and them some. I told their coach before the game we were playing with 8 and they would not have to look far to find us because we would be there dead in their nose hole and you girls did not dissapoint. Looking back on Saturday night, we lost to a different Kraze team 5 to 1 and 6 of their girls have already played their freshman year in college. We then lost to Sidewinders 10 to 3 after being tied 3 up when errors and their bats cost us and they batted the last 25 minutes of the game. That is the same team we held our own with this morning with 8 gritty girls. All exposure tournaments are like this one, many of the teams are loaded with girls that have played a year of junior college ball and are looking to get noticed by a larger 4 year school, so our team of soon to be high school seniors and juniors and one sophomore is a little outclassed. That is however how you get better....play teams that are better than you, because you have really done nothing by drilling a team you have way outclassed. The biggest thing we have to do is get mentally tougher and not get down over an error. We now have almost 2 weeks off to heal up and see about 3 or 4 girls that want to join the team to replace the injured and the ones that have left. Therefore we will not be playing the Saturday only tourney in Cullman, but will practice at Wendell and Lynns house on July12th. We will go to the Huntsville Exposure on the 19th thru 21st and end the season with the other 2 exposures in Troy and Cullman on Augaust 1 and August 8. I have to mention Jessica hitting her very first home run Friday night. Jennifer hitting 2 over the weekend and Alex hitting that tape measure shot today. This exposure served its purpose as one girls was noticed by several for her hustle throughout the camp and tournament as well as getting some pointers about her batting. He wants our schedule for times in Huntsville. Also congrats to Alex Albarado in committing to Miles College. Again I am very proud of every single of you and the work and effort you give. Keep Kristin and our other injured in your prayers. Make sure you all thank your parents for their time, money, and sacrifice they make for you to play. I will keep all of you updated in the coming week or so.
