Chapter 10 - Making Space This chapter occurs to me as the most perfect, and most ironic for me to write about now. As I sit here writing, I am thinking, “I don’t have time to do this!” How perfect! This chapter is all about making space for what we want in our lives. We are very skilled at filling our lives and days, but often not with the things, people and experiences we want. We have a lot of reasons and excuses for this, but the bottom line is, we have to face that our lives are created, and we are the creators. I talk in this chapter about filling my own life with non acting work and activities and then complaining when an audition or lines to learn came into my life. I was too busy for the work and experiences I wanted most. It was a crazy cycle! I learned the importance of making space. If I want a glass full of juice, and it is already full of water, I have to remove some water to make space for the juice I want. Our reality is that we have to make some much money, and work so many hours, yes, but how can we get creative in making space for other things that are so important to us that we don’t have yet? One big culprit for me is cruising on facebook! 20 minutes easily lost without a blink of an eye. In 20 minutes I can learn a lot of lines. So this week notice...notice where and when you can make space. It could be in bursts of minutes or hours, but I guarantee once you begin looking, you will be surprised how much you find...
