Chapter One; Prologue I sat there in the court room up on the uncomfortable witness stand. Now Shariah, why did you do it? Asked the prosecutor with a glare. Her curly black hair framing her face making it look like she had a shadow cloud following her head. You see, I was here because I killed my family. I knew I would get out of a jail sentence because half the room thought I was insane. Im not insane.... I just have a different way of viewing things. I did it because the voices told me to. I stated emotionlessly as I stared dimly at the wall. Why did you listen to the voices? She pressed. Because they were my friends and they promised they would make the nightmares go away What nightmares? The nightmares where my own family were brutally torturing me. I answered as I moved my dull gaze to the prosecuter. She turned her back to me for a second before turning her face back, fury gracing her features. Tell me, did it feel good murdering your own family?Did it feel good to watch their life fade from their eyes as you slit their neck open? She yelled at me. It felt........ It felt absolutely wonderful! I screamed in delight as an evil grin made way onto my face. My wicked laughed rang around the courtroom. The audience was shocked into silence. How was a 14 year old girl so twised? They began to whisper frantically to each other. Order! I say order in the court! the Judge called as he slammed his gavel onto the podium. Everyone immediately shut up and stared expectantly at the judge. He motioned for one jury member to stand and give the verdict. We the Jury, find Shariah guilty of all charges on the account of complete insanity. We the jury also feel that Shariah should be placed in a mental institute for the rest of her life. I pouted. I did NOT want to go to an Insane Asylum for the rest of my life. I am not insane! I just have different veiws!
