Charlie update. The results of the CT show an infection in the bones of the L7-S1 vertebrae and the disc. They found a pocket of fluid in his right abdomen that was encapsulated, but held 100 mls of fluid. Last night was shaping up to be a long one as two areas were visibly filling up with fluid and of course one started seeping. A roll of warm wet paper towel later and most of that fluid was sopped up. I managed to get him to lay on his non leg side on top of a folded up towel, creating a compression and fluid collector. He cooperated throughout the night. The swelling and fluid collection is down considerably this morning. Is it possible that we averted yet another run back to Madison? Oh yes, one more thing, sleeping on the floor is not as awesome as it once was. Love my boy. Sorry for the graphic description, got on a roll.
