Friends, has it occurred to you that recently the only kind of news we hear are discouraging. All around there seems to be nothing but gloom and darkness. If it’s not the economy, it’s the fires in Australia, the volcanic eruption in South America, the fighting in Sudan, the crisis in Zimbabwe, bomb blast in NigeriaBoko aram etc. The list seems endless. What should be our response as Christians and more specifically as Intercessors? Friends, we have to Pray. This month our focus will be on prayer for families (many which have lost literally everything – either through the fires or the economy) but also to pray for the nations. Hence, March will be a Month of Prayer for Families and Nations. In Habakkuk 3:17-19, the Bible says “ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places...” Habakkuk reminds us of the position we are to take as believers in these times where everything seems gloomy. Friends, our destiny is not determined by the economy, the stock market or unemployment statistics. Your destiny is in the God of your salvation.
