Charter Communications is about to increase our monthly rate for cable, from $29 to $49. So, we are trying out Ooma. Its web-based, but hooks into any ordinary phone. The unit costs $129, but the monthly fee is only $5. Our goal is to drop the phone with cable and just keep the internet at $54. In contrast, the internet would go up to $49, bundled with $29 phone. Over the course of 7 months if we dont make any changes we will be paying $546 for phone and internet. If we stick with Ooma, in 7 months well have spent... $542. Ill keep you updated on how the transition goes. Does anyone else use Ooma, or other cost saving solution?
