I love that I am able to concretely show my students what a skill is supposed to look like. They love the comparison tool-- where they can compare their skill directly side by side with the demonstrated. I have found that even in a few short weeks they have improved immensely with the use of this tool. When it comes to technique, my students thrive on concrete, objective information. This app hands that to them on a platter. I had one of my senior students say to me wow, this syllabus is honestly the only one who is connected to the 21st century. I laughed it off, but truly believe it. Technology is a great way to connect to students these days. Super easy to use and incredibly effective in comparing the element that the student is trying to perform to the standard of that element. When I do not have a stronger acrobat around to do a live demonstration, having the videos on the ipad to show the kids makes a huge difference. Already in just a few short weeks we have found the kids have a better understanding of a skills. As a teacher, being able to video the kids and then compare them side by side with the student demonstrators on the app allows us to pause and show the correction to the kids visibly. Being able to see themselves, and then see what it is supposed to look like makes a HUGE difference in applying corrections! I have had amazing results with this syllabus and my students have excelled in all areas of acrodance as well as their other forms of dance by including this syllabus in our studios curriculum. At present, I have my module one certification but this summer Im taking the next module because I do strongly believe in this syllabus!! I havent had a chance to use the app to its fullest yet, but when I heard it was coming out, I was very excited to have it and to be able to use it. The app is amazing and, as the syllabus is incredibly well thought out, so is the app. To have videos and to be able to compare your students with her standard is an incredible tool and a must have for all acro teachers!
