Cher Horowitz hiked up her private school plaid skirt by a few inches more than allowed. Serena Van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf dutifully wore their prep uniforms from the Constance Billard School for Girls, but tweaked it ever so subtly, like a satin bow for B, and serious bling for S. (Because queen bees can’t look like worker bees, nope.) Even Harry Potter customized his flowing robes from Hogwarts with a maroon and yellow scarf. In a perfect world, we’d all be allowed that teeny-tiny freedom to put our mark on our own uniforms (dibs on fun, stripey socks), because boooooooring. But rules and regulations—which are, like, necessary (we get it)—mean we’re going to have to wait till uni to put the shizzle on our dizzle.
