Chichinge Alu Dalna (snake gourd alu gravy) : 2 medium sized snake gourd cut into broad bits, 3 potatoes quartered, 1 onion and 1 tomato chopped Grind ginger, 2 green chillies and 2 tsp jeera powder Heat oil. Fry the alu and snake gourd and keep aside. In the same oil add 2 dry red chillies broken and paanch phoron ( mustard, jeera, kala jeera, methidana & saunf). Add the chopped onion and ginger paste and haldi pdr. Saute. Add the tomatoes. Saute well. Add the vegetables and garam masala pdr, 1 tsp sugar and salt to taste. Pour water and cover and cook till done. Add a dash of ghee in the end. You can avoid the onion if you want. Goes very well with both rice and roti
