Children of God, we have no other refuge than this command of Jesus, “Only believe”. We must depend on God’s Spirit for strength and assistance for God is Spirit. We must lay our souls under His influences and operations. We must instruct every purpose and passion of our heart and every act of our worship to be guided and regulated by the Word of God. For the enemy is out like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Are you safe under the shadow of God’s protection – or are you wide open to satan and his attacks? Life without the Saviour, the Protector of our souls is indeed a risk. On the other hand, the work of faith is not a risk but a sure and practical act. The work of faith, when you have received the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, when you have believed by Spirit power, allows you to be a child of God with power – power to resist the devil and he will flee from you. Take note – faith does not rest in itself; God is the place where faith rests. Therefore, to live a life of faith, a life of protection, we must believe and rest unconditionally and absolutely upon the Word of God. For God does nothing without His Word. To be saved is to have revelation of the glory of Christ. What is the revelation? The revelation of God - only believe.
