China’s first Hello Kitty theme park to open in Jan. 2015 With construction completed, China’s first Hello Kitty theme park is set to open in the city of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, in January 2015. Once it opens, it will be the first Hello Kitty theme park to be operational outside Japan. The 1.6-square-kilometer park has been built at a cost of nearly of 2 billion yuan (approx. $326 million) and took three years to construct.
