Choose your battles wisely, says the phrase. Today is Reconciliation Day in South Africa. Besides the day having an important historic significance in South Africa, the term reconciliation is applicable at a personal level too. Today there are siblings who are in conflict. There are couples who are not on speaking terms whilst living under the same roof. Some people are estranged from their own parents. Business associates, friends and colleagues are in conflict. Very often you find that the wedge has been driven by mundane stuff. In life you can choose wether to really make a big deal out of a situation or not. There are people who are confrontational about anything. If you are not careful such people will draw you into their sad lives. They make a big deal out of anything. Let us not embrace their habits which invariably leads to a life of unhappiness and frustration. The truth is nobody said life is going to be all bed and roses. Today is reconciliation day. Embrace your spouse or lover. Tell them something positive. Show your friends and family love. Let us bury the hatchet. Let us reconcile. If someone wants to pick a fight with you tell them, I see you are stressed, I am not going to fight with you, I am enjoying reconciliation day.
