Chrissy got through her surgery with no complications. Unfortunately, the surgeon (after almost 5 hours of surgery) was unable to locate the one gland that she felt was causing most of the problems. She did remove 2 1/2 parathyroids, but Chrissys calcium levels did not drop. She will have to be on a calcium restricted diet and will have frequent blood work done. We are looking into a 4-D CT scan that may be available in one of the Philadelphia hospitals for her next scan. Hopefully it may be able to locate the other gland. Its possible the gland is located higher in her neck or even into her chest area. Pre-surgery tests did not show location of any of the parathyroids so it was a rough surgery. Chrissy was very disappointed. We are going to do everything possible to keep her spirits high. Thank you to all for the thoughts and prayers.
