Christian or spiritual maturity is about becoming more like Jesus. The life He lived while He walked this earthly plane is the way we are supposed to live as citizens of heaven who are also merely passing through this terrain called the earth. So we are to become more like Him in: Humility for He humbled Himself, taking upon Himself the form of a servant though He was God. In obedience for He was obedient to God even to the point of dying as though He were a criminal on a wooden, rough cross; a shameful way to die, being what God sent Him into the world to do. In righteous living for no iota of sin was found in Him; He was perfect in all His ways and dealings and He went about doing good. In holy living for He was set apart unto God; He never mixed Himself up with the worldly system. In knowing, submitting to and doing Gods will for He did or said nothing save what God wanted Him to do or say. In loving others for Christ loved us and gave His life up for us so that we might be saved by putting our faith in Him. In forgiving others for He forgave us of our numerous sins and iniquities. In being compassionate for He was filled compassion for the people who were being harassed and roaming about like sheep without a shepherd. He went about healing all manner of diseases out of a compassionate heart. In seeking the lost for He said: I have come to seek and find those who are lost. In serving others for He said that He had not come to be served but to serve and give His life as ransome for many and also that He was among His disciples as someone who served. And, ultimately, in overcoming the world for Christ overcame the world and is, right now, set down at Gods right hand from where He will return to this world to judge the living and the dead and to reward us for how much of HIM we became. So keep growing into Christlikeness in every facet of your life. It pays in time and it will pay in eternity tremendiously. God bless you.
