Christiana Care Chronicles~Day 18 Preparing for Discharge! This is an Event to be Celebrated and Feared. While fighting thru Bilateral Mastoiditis my body was thrown deep into my Auto Immune Disease recesses and has been in a severe Flare. Vasculitis became pronounced in a number of different presentations; my Heart then reacted with dangerously low Heart Rates and Blood Pressure. Had a deep muscle/tissue Biopsy done a few days ago and am now going to attempt to Go Home to Recover for the next couple of months. I am leaving with a Picc Line for IV antibiotics, a second oral antibiotic, high dose Steroids and much stronger oral Chemo meds. I was due to be transferred to a Rehabilitation Facility for 6 weeks while under this highly Immunosuppressed Stage, but am opting to try and heal at Home where I can be surrounded by familiar and comfortable. Their is a significant Risk that I will develop an Allergy to the 2nd Antibiotic, so please Pray that doesnt happen or I have to be re-Hospitalized for the duration of Treatment. I sincerely Appreciate all of the amazing Messages, Visits, Love and thoughtful gifts sent during my Stay in Hospital Hell. Definitely had some low moments that would have been far scarier if I had to face them Alone. Missing so many terribly and I cannot wait to be Out and About socializing and feeling Normal again. If I can Offer anything Ive learned from this experience it is to LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. DONT IGNORE SIGNS OF DIRE ILLNESS. You may not get the Chance to Fight another Day. Im Fortunate, Blessed and Love You all.
