Christina - back update -- Chris went for an eval at the Core Institute yesterday for her back. They looked at her films and said her 3 bottom discs are like oreo cookies without any filling and a couple of her discs are bulging. They said that she’s had various procedures – and nothing has provided any pain relief – so at this point – the only thing that could be done is fusion surgery – but it would need to be done at all 3 levels – and no one is going to do that – (1) because of her age; (2) because of the risk; and (3) because if they do that to her lower back – she would likely need to have her upper back fused at some point as well because of the added stress it would be under. So – they basically said – it is what it is. They also told her she will likely develop arthritis in her back as she gets older. They told her strengthening her core and her back is her best bet to help support her back – but that was about it. They told her sorry and then sent her on her way. So – we’ve been looking for an answer for the past 2 years and now we have one – not sure it was what she wanted to hear – but it is what we got….so now we will deal with it.
