A friend took Nic and I to the kibbutz he had ridden his bike as a boy and there was a sudden rumble when he pushed Nic and I to the ground. He thought we were being fired on, as it is not uncommon, however to his embarrassment it was merely a train rumbling by on what seemed to no longer rails in use. Another day the police cautioned us to stay where we were as a school bag had been left at a bus stop and the bomb squad had to safely detonate it. Right now I have a friend who had her baby born in a bomb shelter as Hamas rockets whistled overhead, her husband checking for nearby Hamas tunnels....as youre trying to get across with the boat arrivals,,walk a mile in my shoes.
