City of Long Beach Purchases New Vacuum Truck To Help Keep Sewer and Drainage Systems In Top Shape The City of Long Beach is proud to announce the purchase of a new vacuum truck, which will help keep our sewers and drainage systems in optimal condition. This critical piece of equipment is vital towards keeping our catch basins clean and free of debris, as well as complying with the mandatory requirements of the Phase II Storm Water Regulations and the Citys Stormwater Management Plan to clean twenty percent of the Citys two-thousand catch basins on an annual basis. Additionally, this vacuum truck will also play a important role in reducing non-point-source pollution, as well as maintaining man-holes and the sanitary-sewer system.
