Clear skies will afford us a great opportunity to see the Space Station (ISS) fly over Richmond this evening. The ISS will appear as a very bright consistent light moving from WSW to NE across the sky. The total time for tonights path will be 4 minutes. The light you are seeing comes from sunlight reflecting off the ISSs large solar panels. The ISS will be traveling approximately 250 miles off the earths surface (jets cruise at about 7 miles off the surface), and at a speed of over 17,000 mph (jets cruise at about 500 mph). Check it out between 7:47 and 7:51 tonight!
