Climate change action day rally here in Hobart was a great - TopicsExpress

Climate change action day rally here in Hobart was a great success. Lots of people and families with children and inspiring guest speakers. The speaker that surprised me the most was the fireman union speaker who spoke on behalf of all full time and part time volunteer firemen and women. They have united right across Australia to send a message to our climate change skeptic leader (Climate change is crap. - Tony Abbott, Australias current Prime Minister) that they believe in climate change, have seen the results and want action to be taken asap. Not one politician from the Liberals attended. This was probably the case throughout Australia where a day to take action against climate change was being held. There was a lot to be hopeful for as well as shameful. Send a message to our politicians to FEEL THE HEAT and make this summer a summer to take action. Doing all we can to combat climate change comes with numerous benefits, from reducing pollution and associated health care costs to strengthening and diversifying the economy by shifting to renewable energy, among other measures. - David Suzuki
