College Open as Usual - Tues 14th October As parents and carers may already be aware next Tuesday, the 14th October 2014, is the day that has been identified nationally as a day of industrial action and I have been informed by the GMB union that their members who are employed at the College may take industrial action. There are other unions that are taking action nationally but this is the only one that have informed us of their intention. As such, a relatively small number of staff are involved. Staff members are under no obligation to tell me in advance if they will be in College on the day although a very small number of staff have already done so. I have carried out an evaluation of the situation and I have made the decision at this stage that the College will stay open to all students. Clearly, there is an outside chance that this decision might have to change before the day and any announcement will be made via the College website. It is important for everyone to understand that we shall do everything possible to keep things as normal as we can for our students. Thank You
