Come check out some of students art work. Below are the Profiles of our Arts Students who will be exhibiting their Art Work at Te Puna O Te Matauranga Marae, from Monday 23 June to Wednesday 27 June. The Arts students are looking forward to exhibiting their pieces. *Please Note, The Students Art Work is also for For Sale (POA - Price on Application). Akara Rapana Maihi - 3yr BAA TE Kau- I- Mua, Ngati Horohia, Ngati Te Tarawa me Te Orewai nga hapu ki roto Ngati Hine, Ngapuhi Nui Tonu hoki. Being born and raised in Whangarei the local culture and environment is always of major importance for me. This is what I have drawn inspiration from to inform my artwork. Maarie Te Mamae Roa Jane Ruys – Ngapuhi I am currently in my second year of a Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree. I ‘m passionate about exploring colour, space, depth and illusion through my arts practice. I’m influenced by the natural environment and our place within it. Rapana Maihi – Ngapuhi Born and raised in Auckland where I trained and studied dance, moved back home to Tai Tokerau to unlock and pursue a once hidden love of Visual Arts. I take influence from my Maori heritage and the ever changing society in the hopes to capture the creative minds of the young generation.
