Coming Sunday: A look back at this week in history 1914: Frolicking floaters from Akron A large balloon from Akron sailed over Warren, attracting a great deal of attention. The occupants of the basket were seen to throw out a great deal of ballast near in an attempt to get a higher altitude. In making the landing, the basket caught in the branches of a tree and for a time it was feared the occupants would be dumped out, but they later succeeded in making a safe landing.
