Coming up tonight on ABC 17 News at 9 and 10: Columbia City Council will meet tonight to vote on two issues; an open burning ban and a homeless shelter to be built on 8th Street. The council will also hear testimony from Opus Development regarding a purported referendum petition against the contract Opus had with the city for a future downtown housing development. Jefferson City Council is scheduled to vote on YMCA expansion and electric parking enforcement vehicles. The new City Council will also be sworn in at the meeting. ABC 17s Daniel Winn will have the outcome of that meeting. ABC 17s Jillian Fertig will explain what is being done to stop downtown Columbia vandalism after another business was broken into early Sunday morning.
