Community Question posts are to support and encourage gentle, peaceful parenting. Please keep comments respectful - free of shame, blame and punishment. Thank you! My 6-year old son is very rambunctious. Hes very physical and can be quite violent especially when he is angry. Unfortunately, he inherited a very volatile temper so when he is angry he hulk smashes anything in reach. Usually it isnt too bad and we can talk him down and explain that being angry is ok but we have to be careful with how we express the anger. Last night, my husband and I were out and my other children were taking turns on the computer. Our son couldnt remember a password and his sister didnt remember so he got angry and threw a remote control, breaking my computer monitor. Im just looking for feedback on how to help him handle his anger in less destructive ways. I talked to him today and we decided that when hes angry we can have some boxes that he can tear up, so that he gets that emotional release but isnt tearing up anything valuable. Does anyone else have any tips or tricks on how to handle a youngster with destructive tendencies?
