Community Speed Watch North Yorkshire Police and Julia Mulligan are working together to pilot a Community Speed Watch scheme. The pilot will involve 12 sites within the Harrogate District. The Parish Council is invited to respond but we have to have two members of the community willing to work with two police volunteers, to have some training in using speed monitoring equipment and then to deploy that equipment at certain points, resulting in letters being sent to the registered keepers of the vehicle believed to be speeding. Not all PCs who respond this time will be able to be included but we will register our interest by the deadline of 11th January.
