Complaint Category: Improper collection practicesComplaint: unfair business practicesnot sure where to start, as it looks like this company is tied in to the bbb of denver? meaning that home advisor still has a a+ rating??? something is not right about this?1).leads that are not real!2).leads that are given to numerous pros and all are charged!3). salesman that does not tell the truth up front!4).collection practices that are not told up front!some are collected monthly, some weekly? biweekly?never know/understood when they sticktheir hands in the bank account?? and pull out how much???5)asked in numerous messages to be contacted and no response!6). unprecedented amount of calls by ******** (salesman)Initial Business Response We have been unsuccessful in our multiple attempts in reaching this customer to discuss their complaint at this time. We have reviewed the complaint and as an advertiser HomeAdvisor cannot guarantee all homeowners will connect with the matched contractor; we still feel that over time we are very competitive with other forms of advertising when looking at total amount spent and jobs invoiced.Initial Consumer Rebuttal (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)i do not accept because once again homeadvisor true colors are showing!home advisor has stated that multiple attempts have been made to contact me, and that is not true!one phone call has been made on their behalf! ONE!i received an email from them that stated my balance owed to them was now zero. it is obvious that this complaint is not being taken seriously! therefore i am contacting a lawyer!what i stated was, i wanted a COMPLETE refund of fees! A COMPLETE REFUND OF ALL FEES!and from the letter i just received, it looks as though home advisor just does not get what the true problem is!i never said or expected ALL LEADS TO ACCEPT ME FOR WORK!i was sent DEAD LEADS!!! LEADS WHERE HOMEOWNERS SAID THEY HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT I WAS CONTACTING THEM FOR! LEADS THAT NEVER ANSWERED! LEADS THAT ARE SENT TO MULTIPLE CONTRACTORS! SHALL I GO ON?I DO BELIEVE THAT HOMEADVISOR COMPLETELY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING....THUS HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS!!!!I WILL NOT BE SWEPT AWAY SO EASY!IT IS SIMPLE!I WANT A COMPLETE REFUND OF ALL FEES!!!and it is just not true what is stated in this response from them! there was/is no multiple responses from them !refund all fees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and i will not accept anything else! REFUND!Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)not so ! as of this moment i am still waiting for my callback from the man that replaced **** ******!!! *** ***** on the 11th of aug... he called me, i called back, he has not returned a call back! and as i saidi can not print my records because **** ****** took it upon himself to close my account ! and use any monies to pay all leads that HE thought was due! why was this done ? I WILL TELL YOU WHY! IT IS A POWERPLAY! an $80.00 membership fee was paid! and then another charge was paid of $71.00 for leads! the FREE LEAD showed up stating no one had responded to it, and this lead is on us! **** ****** is a very cocky,one sided man!and once again!! MY ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED BEFORE ANYTHING COULD BE PRINTED! why was this decision made? i will tell you why! for the simple fact that i needed to gain access in order to print records! if he can not print records, he has no case!!! this is why! and then all of the sudden **** ****** is replaced??? home advisor has complete control of its website! so no! i do not want home advisor to print the info i need! i will print it ! EXCEPT MY ACCOUNT ACCESS IS DENIED!!!!I SHOULD BE ASKING FOR ALL OF IT BACK! BUT I AM NOT! JUST MEMBERSHIP FEES!and this 72 hr issue is not!these salesmen that start machine-gun calling you when you first look at the website, are in the process of overwelmingly, overselling this company, that it takes 72 hours just to figure out what the heck just happened??? WHICH! by the way was never told to me whatsoever! AND I WILL STAND BY THAT IN A COURT OF LAW! UNDER OATH !and home advisor is so busy sugar coating everything to make that sell, that no one is thinking cancellation !they reel you in , giving you a lead or two , and then it goes south after the first couple leads!AND THIS IS THE TRUTH HOME ADVISOR!!! AND WHY DONT YOU ADMIT IT???NO! I DO NOT ACCEPT! FULL REFUND OF ALL MEMBERSHIP FEES !and let me also state something about **** ****** ! for the brief moment that i spoke with him, it sooooo reminded me of the school yard bully that this is all i could keep thinking of while listening to him!! EXAMPLE- THE BULLY TAKES YOUR SANDWICH AND YOU ASK HIM TO GIVE IT BACK, HE REPLIES- NO, MAKE ME! THIS IS A POWER PLAYING , POWER THROWING BULLY!(HOME ADVISOR)AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!REFUND MY MEMBERSHIP FEES!Final Business Response At this time, in order to close this complaint we have issued a refund. At the same time, we do not see that it is necessary as we have provided the services the customer signed up for.Complaint Resolution: Company addressed the complaint issues.
