Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that - TopicsExpress

Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that you may be healed ~ James 5:16 I see two important keys in this simple passage that contribute to our growth and ultimately freedom as we walk out our unique purposes. 1). The first is found in the confess your faults... part of the verse. We need to pray and ask God to reveal to us those trustworthy people that we can be transparent with, who have already been appointed to help us to overcome things in our hearts that can be growth stumbling blocks for us. I found this scripture to be very alive in my personal life. Over 12 years ago, I prayed and asked God to show me who could I open up to. I had more issues than Time Magazine and just needed someone to talk to. Surprisingly, it was not the people that I thought I could trust- He showed me Ronald. This developed into a great friendship built on trust, which ultimately culminated in marriage. Me being able to confide in and trust him was a huge key to our relationship foundation and to my own personal growth and development. 2). Secondly the verse instructs us to then pray for one another... (so that at the end of the confessing and praying), we may be healed. Lets make a commitment today to earnestly pray for those that God has put you and I in relationship with. Whether it is our spouse, children, co-workers, family, friends, pastor, teachers, church members, etc. It is our prayer life that can impact -for the better -the lives of those that we are connected to. I pray that you have an Ephesians 3:20 encounter in all of your close relationships - that your relational experiences are far above what you could ever ask for, request, or think! Amen!
